One of the most popular camps in the military system, Yuma Proving Ground’s Desert Breeze Travel Camp and R.V. Park is a great place to escape the cold, winter months and discover why so many people make the Yuma area their winter home!
Our 102 campsites are equipped with:
- Water and sewer hookups
- Electricity (20/30/50 amp)
- Cable television
- Wi-Fi internet service

Check-in
Guests may check-in at the Desert Breeze office, which is conveniently located at the campground, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. A camp host is available to assist your after-hours and on weekend needs. Call, (928)247-5925 for Camp Host.

Nestled on the banks of the Colorado River near the Mexican border, Yuma affords residents and visitors a year-round vista of the rugged mountains and picturesque canyons of the Sonoran Desert. Yuma offers winter visitors a broad array of community events and outdoor activities, including antique shows, outdoor flea markets, arts and crafts bazaars, health fairs, home shows, concerts, and dances. Our mild winters, coupled with some of the most fertile soils in the world make Yuma the winter vegetable capital of the world. Take a scheduled farm tour and learn about lettuce, dates, melons, citrus, and other crops grown here.

Welcome to Yuma, the Sunniest Place on Earth!
According to the Guinness Book of World Records, Yuma is the sunniest city on earth with over 4,100 hours of sunlight per year. Yuma is also Arizona’s warmest winter destination! An average temperature of 80 degrees during the fall and winter months make Yuma the perfect destination to escape the cold winter weather.
There are a variety of things to do on post, including tennis, a full gym and bowling. We celebrate national holidays, we have movie nights, we play card games, happy hour every day, potlucks, BBQ's, and much more. We also offer regularly scheduled excursions to regional attractions, such as the Viejas Outlet Mall, Seaport Village and U.S.S. Midway, as well as deep-sea fishing off the coast of San Diego.
